Eowyn's Victory Outfit

(aka Cup / Golden Hall Dress)

V1.4 -  December 2004

We get a glimpse of this outfit while Rohim celebrates their victory in the Golden Hall of Rohan.  It's so beautiful, that it is likely to be a fav among recreationists.  Victory Undergown pictures and description are with the Ice Blue Coat

Waist is slightly different and the front strip wider, but this gives you an idea.

Artwork by Aya

Outer Layer of the Victory Gown

Waist length coat of ice blue and gold mid-weight brocade. Raglan sleeved.   Also has a dart at the top of the shoulder

It looks to zip up the back with an invisible zip. When you see this from the back, there is a centre back seam, but there doesn't appear to be any kind of fastenings at the front. There is no interruption to the neckline at the front.

The centre front panel is very detailed, with embroidery and stones. The piece down the centre looks to be approximately 5 cm wide (maybe a little wider). The shaped pieces on either side look to be approximately 6 - 7 cm wide at the narrowest point, and go up to approximately 9 - 10 cm at the top and bottom.

The centre front piece appears to be gold and silver, with silver embroidery and stones. It's the same width all the way down, and it has gold cording sewn down approximately 1 cm from the edge.

The fabric on either side also appears to be gold and silver. This could be the same fabric, made to look slightly different, due to the absence of embroidery. It's difficult to tell. They do seem to be the same colour. The width on the side panels varies from top to bottom. It's shaped so that it's wide at the top and bottom, and comes in around the middle. These side panels also have the same gold cording 1cm from the outside edge.

Around the hips, there are two pieces of fabric and trim that go around. One of them goes horizontally, and the other one drops down the centre front, where it covers part of the other piece. It then drops down around the hips, and meets up again with the other piece at the centre back.

Under Dress of the Victory Gown

A gown of slightly darker blue silk damask, a solid colored fabric with texture embroidery.  Not quite as heavy as dupioni. A damask weave.  (Tone on tone pattern) or a maltise,  Long bag-lined sleeves of a shimmery mid-weight silk.  Top of the sleeves are tight but widen way out to drop most of the way to the ground.  See more description with the Ice Blue Coat
