Extra Tips

Just a few for now, looking for more.

Aging Tips

If it's really metal and has a really shiny, chrome-plated look to it, what you can do that is quick and easy is spray paint it with a black enamel (Tremclad works great) and wipe the paint off the high points with a clean rag before the paint dries. This will leave the back paint in the deeper crevices of the design work.

Or, if it's made of nickel-silver you can use a patinating solution of Liver of Sulfur to seriously oxidize the surface (to anywhere from a slight tarnish to nearly black, depending on the strength of the solution) and give the high points a buffing with a rouge cloth (available at jewelers and watchmakers supply shops). Liver of Sulfur is usually available at jewelers or sculptors supply shops.
