The White Lady of Rohan

Jessica - Massachusetts, USA

I drafted my own pattern for this one. It's a little snug, but I was working with scrap fabrics; which include a heavy cream cotton, white taffetta (for the belt), and a light gold metallic fabric (for the sleeve lining). The neckline is trimmed with some store-bought trim, the sleevecap trim is made with white yarn and yellow thread zig-zagged over it. Necklace was bought in Prince Edward Island and the belt consists of 14 cardboard discs, spray painted and decorated with a heavy craftmarker. The belt ties in the back.

Eowyn's Shield Maiden Outfit

Kell  -  Tennessee, USA

I used the same Simplicity 9891 as I used for my chase dress, only a separate view. This one was pretty straight forward, just edited for the collar. After it was all made, we gathered the sleeves at the elbow to pull them back. For the vest I use a pull over sleeveless t-shirt pattern I already had. The brown fabric is a moleskin. The gold trimming is ribbon I found, I'm very happy with that! Not sure exactly what the white fabric is now, but it's very heavy and stiff. Were I remaking this I'd use something thinner.
