Anita's Examples - NorwayShield elfHow can you be a shield-maiden and still keep your elf-ears on? I did some slight modifications with sheer fabric and red velvet, and got my "shield-elf" just right :) The underdress is made from a white polyester-like fabric (just put it in the washer! It's amazing!), and lined with ordinary white lining. The seam goes just underneath the breasts, and the skirts are quite full (just one seam in the back, since the fabric approximates a full circle). The neckline is trimmed with a bought golden trimming (no embroideries this time, puh!). The vest is red stretch velvet and lined, also with bought golden trimmings. It laces up the back, and I made the gap about 5 cm wide so that the lacing would show.
