Elven Grove, Part 2
Here we feature even more costumes from our folks who have recreated some of the
wonders of the Elven folks.
Work here represents recreations at all skill levels.
Picture hyperlinks will open to more details about the costumes.

Lalaithien Pattern: Simplicity 9891, and
McCall's 3010
The back of dress has been modified with a gore in centre back
seam, so that there is a small train. I used the sleeve (view C) pattern
from McCall's 3010. There were no problems matching sleeve openings.
Also, I hand-stichted pearlescent cord around the edges of the
sleeves (treated with fray-check) instead of hemming them, as the hems
were not working well. |
Fabric:- white jacquard bridal satin, pearlescent chiffon (for the
sleeves). I detailed it with glittering fabric paint, seed beads, and
sequins (perhaps not as 'Elvish' as it should be, but it does catch the
light nicely!).
This is one of my first 'Elf' dresses, as I have more experience in
Renaissance ('Hobbit') clothes, so it didn't turn out as perfectly as it
could have, but I like it. :)
