Fabrics &
materials
| About 7 yards of silk/rayon
taffeta in green and gold. This was probably the most difficult fabric
about this costume and I searched quite a long time. It is used for the
entire underdress and the lining of sleeves and skirt. |
| About 5 yards of mossy green
cotton velvet. I tried my best to “destroy” the fabric, but the pile of my
velvet was not high enough. Now the fabric has not the exact look of the
original but it still works J |
| 2 yards of the “original” trim in
black and gold. I am so happy with this trim, because it looks so
beautiful and I want to thank Maggie from “costumersguide” for finding it! |
| Hooks and eyes for the closing of
the underdress. |
| Braided cords for the tight
innersleeves of the underdress in green and gold. |
| Golden yarn to embroider the
trim. |
General Description:
The costume has an underdress with tight innersleeves,
which are corded with braided cords. On the overdress there are wide
outersleeves, which are lined with the underdress fabric. Along the neckline
I have attached the bullion trim and the dress has no darts or princess
seams. In the front of the overdress there is a big gap and a front panel.
