Galadriel’s Farewell cloak and Legolas’ Council Cloak

My mother and I (Julia) made these cloaks for the premiere of “The Two Towers“ in December.  I am wearing Galadriel’s Farwell Cloak. We used a pattern for a monk costume for the upper part and changed the pattern for a princess costume for the actual cloak.

For Legolas’ Council Cloak we used a simple cape pattern and just made it longer.

Norman also wears a kind of vambraces made of black velvet with silver embroidery with the pattern from alleycatscratch.com.  I printed the patterns out, copied them on thin paper and sewed the paper onto the vambraces to get the pattern right. After that I just tore the paper out and it looked great. The bow is just a varnished stick decorated with thin silver wire.
