Since I couldn't afford velvet or anything fancy, I used a broadcloth. I used Simplicity Pattern 8725 and made my own impromptu pattern for the bell sleeves. I made the belt out of Christmas trim that I bought at JoAnn's for half price and I found the trim around the neck at JoAnn's for 99 cents. Personally I like it better without the belt! I think in all the dress cost me about 25 dollars. Overall, not bad for my first time doing anything other than simple dresses and repairs.
