Frida - Sweden

This lavender blue dress is the first of my three Lord of the Rings dresses I’ve made. I used a hand-made medieval pattern from Sweden to make the dress. I modified the sleeves to make them look more “elvish”. Since I couldn’t find the perfect trim to fit my dress I instead made the Eowyn-inspired vest, which I made my own pattern for. The dress is made of cotton and the vest of stretch-velvet.

My second dress is my black Arwen-inspired gown. I love her Requiem and Mourning dresses and couldn’t decide which one I wanted to make so I made a mix of both. The pattern I used was Butterick nr. 3552, which I modified the sleeves on. I found a perfect trim on sale for this dress; it was even gold-beaded! The dress is made of black cotton, black stretch-velvet and black chiffon on the sleeves.

The Evenstar- pendant is made of clay called “cernit-clay”. I painted with silver paint and glued two crystals to it, to make it shine more.

My Fellowship brooch is also made of clay and painted with acrylic colour and silver paint. A brooch-pin is glued on at the back of it.
