Charissa's Examples California, USAMy WeddingClick on pictures for enlargements. My seamstress used no pattern. She cut the dress freehand from the pictures I showed her. It is made with a fine white wool, lined with raw silk, and a gold patterned brocade lining sleeves and train. She added a longer train for the wedding, though if I had it to do again, I wouldn’t have the longer train. I preferred it as it was in the movie. Also, the dress was so heavy I had a hard time getting down the stairs. For the belt I used a flat woven cording. For the lining around the neck, we used a matte shimmery gold fabric overlaid with another woven trim that I found. It took forever to find just the right color, thickness and style for the cording. My seamstress cut the sleeves in one piece out of the wool. There is a zipper in the back.
