LOTR creativity is extending beyond costuming ourselves, here's where to

I just eyeballed the length of the banner
based on my living room window (where I had originally intended to hang
it). For the designs, I printed out screenshots of the production photos
from The Two Towers EE DVD as large as I could on a plotter/Designjet,
then traced the edges of the shapes out onto the fabric.
I glued the pieces down onto the banner base, then used
iron-on fusible interfacing (2 layers) on the underside of the banner
for stability, then satin-stitched all rough edges. For the 'celtic
lacing' pattern at the very top, I ran out of time and ended up just
using fabric paint (iridescent bright gold acrylic). I also made them
too big and then didn't have room for the 'figure 8's' that are supposed
to link them.
The green, blue, and red fabrics are a cotton/poly
broadcloth. The white and yellow fabrics are 100% cotton.
