Anita's Examples - NorwayLaurelinThere aren't many simpler things than using a primary cut! Which is why I had to add lots of details not to get bored. The dress is brown raw silk, and the undersleeves are made from some sheer, very artificial fabric. The sleeves are split, and decorated with ribbons and beads. The collar is made from the same fabric as the sleeves, and Laurelin, the sun tree of Valinor, is embroidered in beads in front. The whole clue with this costume is that the dress is not supposed to be worn alone (actually, it looks like a gospel outfit on it's own, lol!). A marroon velvet vest goes with it. The vest has a mandarin collar, and has a square hole in front so that you can see Laurelin through it! The clasp (which doesn't have a function on this vest) is made from a pair of cheap earrings. The vest laces down the back, and gives shape to the dress.
