Harad Elf Winter Wear

Off-white super soft wool jersey is the basis of this Asiatic-inspired dress. The fabric stretches quite a bit, so no zippers and only three seams this time! Triangular pieces are inserted in the sides however, to make the skirts a little fuller.

In the moderate v-neck, I inserted a fine-knit collar (thank you, Mum!). It shapes itself beatifully around the neck, and gives a lot of warmth! Mmmm...

From the v, I made a decorative seam to one of the sides. On this seam, fastened 3 Chinese buttons (not functional).

The sleeves are classic tube sleeves, edged with off-white knitwear (same as the collar, my Mum is great!). There are petal-shaped split oversleeves fastened at the elbows. The oversleeves are lined with beautiful beige-shimmery silk damask fabric.

To go with the dress is a broad silk damask belt lined with flannel. The lacing in front goes through little silver buckles with small holes in them. This dress looks great with the belt or without, so I think I'll do a little of both :) If the elves were to move East instead of West, I would picture them like this..."
