Arwen's Requiem Cloak
The cloak consists of two half circles (with an extra yard of
length thrown in the middle of the circle half). The hood is a
variation on the McCall pattern. I lined the hood and cloak to the
floor; since the fabric drapes so wonderfully I was afraid that lining
the train would detract. The hood is a nightmare to see out of, if you
can keep the hood up! I would probably try something different for the
lining, not so slick.
The fabric is a stretch burnout velvet which I got on clearance at JoAnns.
I know the fabric isn't authentic, but the design made me think of the
etching in the velvet, and it was the best I could find at $5.00 a yard or
under. Because of the stretchy nature of the fabric I thought it best to
line the hood, for stability.
