Laura and Friends
The first two pictures are of my good friend Sarah, Galadriel. Her dress
came from a local thrift store and her cape is made of a heavy scalloped
lace. To make her hair crimped, she braided it wet and left it for two
days. Her elvish ears are made of clay and then painted to match her skin
tone. Didn't she turn out gorgeous?
The next picture is of Carissa, as Mr. Frodo. Her pants came from a thrift
store, as well as her shirt (which the collar was altered). Her hairy feet
were made with theater glue and fake hair (which is now all over her
house). her red hair was colored to match Frodo's with spray in hair
color. Her ears were also made of clay and look very realist if I may add.
Her vest was hand sewn out of a rich velvet and lined with satin.
The leafy wonder is Chris, as Treebeard. I painted him brown and then
imitated wood with black, grey and green paints. His green shit and pants
(not seen in picture) came from the thrift store and then were sewn with
plastic vines. It looked funny, but very entertaining. Pippin, on his
shoulder, is sporting a lovely blue velvet coat and a brown sock for a
cape.
Michael the Ranger was also created in the thrift store. His tunic was
made of an old brown dress. the leather ties were sewn on and accented
with false stitches on top. The walking stick was found in the woods.
These were the costumes that I designed. This next picture is of all of
our groupies at a Two Towers party. I am the hobbit in the green vest. All
my costume was also made by myself or bought at the thrift store.
PS when making hobbit feet...always buy the glue remover! oops
