It was originally meant to be the underdress of Arwen's Requiem dress, but I didn't like the over dress, so it became a generic elf. The underskirt is also silk essence, but the pattern I used is so out of date, I don't even have the number anymore.
The headdress was formed by twisting pearl strands with beading wire to get the right shape and then playing with the loops. The flower bits and ends of the loops were glued to clear hair combs.

My youngest nephew went as Merry last Halloween. The vest was modified from an old boys vest pattern and randomly quilted. The shrit was bought and the cape my own pattern, just a rectangle with a hood really.

My nephew went as Frodo last Halloween. This one was mainly a throw together from the thrift store, except the cape, which was my own pattern.
Last Halloween my oldest nephew went as Legolas. The jerkin was of material I had at home, and mostly of my own design, with help from Alley Cat Scratch, of course. The under shirt is silver silk dupioni scraps sewn onto a t-shirt where it would be visible. The quiver and straps, that you can't see, are made from felt, with arrows of dowel rods. The cloak is hoodless and simply two wedges sewn together to get the most out of the fabric. This was a quick throw together costume, and so isn't as accurate as we all would like!
