The Ventura county farm opens up every October for a Harvest Festival.
Acers of pumpkins plus lots of entertainment. craft fair and a country store
in the Moorpark / Newbury Park area. The first weekend in October is
dedicated to Cowboys. The entire weekend will be filled with
stunt ropers, gunfighters, country music, cowboy poetry and even an old-time
medicine show. Don your cowboy hats and come on down to the farm for a taste
of the Wild West!

??? Shiver at the Haunting of the Old Grand Union Hotel. This haunting fundraiser is at the Stagecoach Inn Museum (formerly the Grand Union Hotel) in Newbury Park (near Thousand Oaks). Hallowe'en is a natural for this old hotel on the original stage route from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles.
Activities include face painting, trick-or-treating around the complex,
crafts for kids, cupcake walks and storytellers. Bring your already carved
pumpkin for prizes. Jack-o-lanterns will be judged for best, scariest and
most unusual, and they will all be lighted at 3:30 p.m. Wear your
costumes!

Los Encinos
State Historic Park in Encino will host Historical costumes of the 1870s,
traditional games, live music and a working blacksmith shop at the Los Encinos
living history day. Tours of the restored 1849 adobe and participants in
authentic Victorian costume.

MTHE is a
