Startling Halloween Street Fairs & Autumn Festivals

Here we've got a smorgasbord of wild street fairs, family pumpkin harvest festivals, and an eclectic set of Halloween contests throughout the Los Angeles area.  Plenty of places to play in costume and experience the diversity of Halloween in LA.  Hollywood has taught us all how to party... and thousands hit the local streets to strut their sequins.  We're listing everything from the big parties to the local Halloween events.

West Hollywood Halloween Carnival

This is the Halloween Costume Party to end all parties.  It's the ultimate block party -- and that's saying a lot for Los Angeles.

Halloween night Santa Monica Blvd. is closed down in West Hollywood and turned over to the the wildness of imagination.  You'll see some of the most electrifying, strangest, daringest, gaudiest costumes to dare to strut down a public street.  It has been titled "the largest Halloween street party in the world."

There are numerous stages set up with bands and other events as well. There will be a parade.   Try for the $1000 first prize in their costume contest.

Most stores stay open late.  It's a great place to come and play... you never know who or what you will see.  There will be numerous stars just roaming the boulevard as well as total shocking silliness.  This is an event for those who like to watch and be watched.

West Hollywood on Halloween night is NOT for the kiddies... nor for anyone easily offended.  Leave your inhabitations at home and party!  It's a no-holds-bared Mardi Gras fun night for adults.  However, there are kid friendly events in the week before hand.

Hollywood Halloween Street Fair

OK, it's not quite true that the West Hollywood Street Fair is too big to contain all the costumes.  However, if you are looking for something much more kid-friendly but still a free spirited street fair, check out what Hollywood does on Hollywood Blvd.

It's back to being an informal affair.  There's a caravel atmosphere and many of the shops are set up for trick-or-treaters.  Some stores will be open late for trick-or-treating  It's a great time to visit the bizarre midnight museums that dot the area.

The MAiZe at Temecula - October Maze Crazy

Maze is gone.  Razed for development!

The Big Horse Feed And Mercantile in Temecula had chosen a special theme for this year's corn maze:  "Freedom isn't free".  It's carved in a large corn field and you are challenged to find your way. There's lots of family fun: corn cannon, petting farm, hay ride, pumpkin patch, min mazes, hay jump and more.  Weekdays are maze only... but the weekend is full of extra activities and rides.

Each weekend has it's own theme: Tribute to Military, Make your own Scarecrow, Old Fashion Farm Days, Old Fashion Carnival Days (final weekend, working w/ non profit groups)
