Summary of other West Hollywood Halloween Events
Hollywood Halloween Street FairOK, it's not quite true that the West Hollywood Street Fair is too big to contain all the costumes. However, if you are looking for something much more kid-friendly but still a free spirited street fair, check out what Hollywood does on Hollywood Blvd. It's back to being an informal affair. There's a caravel atmosphere and many of the shops are set up for trick-or-treaters. Some stores will be open late for trick-or-treating It's a great time to visit the bizarre midnight museums that dot the area.
Descanso Garden's Pumpkin Festival - Pumpkin Locomotion"Descanso Gardens offers families and friends the opportunity to enjoy fall's blooming beauty along with seasonal celebrations." Children's costume contest early Saturday morning, petting zoo. Farm-to-table educational exhibit, including food tasting. (find the list on line). Crafts for kids. Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch (Los Angeles)OK this isn't actually a festival... but shhhhh, don't tell the kids
that. This is a perennial favorite and probably the best pumpkin patch
in Los Angeles. It's much more than just a pumpkin patch. Kids are
entertained with Mr. Bones and the Halloween giants, the jumpin' pumpkin,
moon bounce, pony rides, petting zoo and face painting.
There are also specials for adults. Instead of driving all around they've got just about every fresh autumn decorations and tools in one place so you have more time to party at Halloween. This including long-stemmed pumpkins, cornstalks, Indian corn, gourds, squash and straw bales. They even providing carving and pumpkin painting if you want to chicken out and have someone carve for you. This is a family owned Oregon business that brings it's farm-fresh Halloween items right into the heart of LA and Beverly Hills... while saving you time and providing a fun time for the kids. Hey, it's hard to find a good corn field in Los Angeles, but if you're willing to drive a bit... here's a good family friendly spot a bit east of San Diego
The Big Horse Feed And Mercantile in Temecula had chosen a special theme for this year's corn maze: "Freedom isn't free". It's carved in a large corn field and you are challenged to find your way.
There's lots of family fun: corn cannon, petting farm, hay ride, pumpkin patch, min mazes, hay jump and more. Weekdays are maze only... but the weekend is full of extra activities and rides.
Each weekend has it's own theme: Tribute to Military, Make your own Scarecrow, Old Fashion Farm Days, Old Fashion Carnival Days (final weekend, working w/ non profit groups)

Well, I'm not going to try and catch these. Check your local paper and your local city's web site. Check with the parks and rec department.
Most of these are kid oriented. If the pattern from the last couple of year holds on, a number will be on the Saturday afternoon before Halloween. Others will start at 4PM on Halloween for the kiddies.
