Howlin' Halloween - Events for Dogs & Cats
Halloween isn't just for the two legged folks, let the 4 legged ones play
too! Below are places where both you can your pet can play in costume.
Let the dogs come out and play! We haven't found events for cats
yet, please let us know if you find any.

As the title says, this is a doggie costume
contest!!! Bring your pet and howl with the pampered pooches in the
Belmount Shores area.
Hundreds of dogs expected! And, a few thousand spectators will
line the parade route which will be on the sidewalks of Second Street See
website for parade map. Parade 2:30 . Prizes of a year's dog food for best
costume, best group and best "float".
Besides the costume contest and parade, bulldog kissing booth, bobbing for Howl'oWeenies,
look-a-like contest and more. Super pet adoption fair. Bulldog Kissing

Come on by and
enter your pet in the annual Halloween costume contest. Great prizes for
guardians and pets will be awarded in several different categories
including: Scariest Costume, Look-Alike (pet and guardian), Most Creative
Costume, Most Colorful Costume and Best Costume. Certificate to all
participants.

Ghoulish
Entertainment, presents DOG-TOBER-FEST to benefit to support the
Riverside County/City Animal Shelter. Pet costume contest, K-9
demonstrations, agility course, weiner dog races & Pet Adoptions.
Chili cook-off. Ride over.

Annual run for the
rescue -- rescue animals that is. 5 k run walk for adults and a 1k
non-competition race for the kids. Fun activities for animal lovers of
every age! Including prizes and awards for top racers and fundraisers,
celebrity art auction, Halloween Rescue Show, Drawing classes for kids, dog
training demonstration, doggie bounce house, unique pet products and more! If you don't want to run, bring your pet out
for a fun day. If you don't have a pet yet, consider adoption. A number of
groups will have dogs and cats out there.
Sponsored by The Rescue Train, Best Friends Animal Society, The Lange
Foundation, Kitten Rescue, A Dog's Life Rescue, Four Legged Friends
Foundation, Animal Alliance & Molly’s Mutts and Meows. Each year
these 7 non-profit animal rescues save, house, give medical treatment and
find loving homes for approximately 1500 once-forgotten animals. (Since 2006)

Grab your surfboard and
your pup and hit the waves. Pooches will be able to “hang 20” in
surfing competitions and strut their stuff in a variety of dog-gone fun
activities and contests while raising funds for animal welfare
organizations. All activities will take place at Huntington Dog Beach,
starting at 8 a.m.. Surf Dog Competition, Woofin' Walk, Look-a-like, costume
contest, Hot Diggigy Dog Expo.
All dogs must wear a life vest. Special Surf City Surf Dog vests will be
available for rent or purchase. Surfboards will be for rent. See site

Pet owners are encouraged
to bring along their favorite K-9 dressed in the Halloween spirit for the
Annual Downtown Dog Parade on the AMC Walkway Owners are asked to please
register on-site by 5:30 P.M. All well-behaved pets are welcome. Dogs must
wear leashes.
